Abstract

In this study, face scrub as oil in water cream with different ratios of mango seed coats’ powder and stearic acid in 12 different batches has been formulated. Also, mango leaves extract has been used as an antioxidant. Particle size of abrasive agent used was within range of 400‑600 um. Prepared face scrub was evaluated by spreadability, total fatty material (TFM), extrudability and pH. Sample formulation scrub for stability testing for physical appearance studied at (4+2°C/25+5%), (25+2°C/60+5%) and (40+2°C/75+5%) conditions shows no change in spreadability, colour, odour, appearance, pH, extrudability, viscosity, and skin sensitivity. All these tests passed sample with no change in original form. Formulated sample was evaluated by pH 6.87, spreadability 15.30 g/sec, TFM 21.45%, and extrudability 2.5 g/sec. Among these data, batch B2 showed good results for Tape stripping test by dead cell removal ability. Scrub study revealed that formulation is capable of enlarging pores, maintaining moisture and softening external skin layer and enhancing cleansing of the skin by removing dead skin from surface.
