A Review on Biological Effectiveness of Wild Edible Mushroom as Nutraceutical in Treatment of Serious Disease Condition

Abstract


Mushrooms are omnipresent and are belongs to the fungi family having economical and medicinal importance. Mushrooms are of two types’ edible mushrooms and wild edible mushrooms having around about 40 species of mushroom that contains most of the bioactive components. The bioactive constituents of mushrooms possess various pharmacological activities which are further used to treat various disorders like depression, cancer, inflammation, fungal infections, hypertension, and diabetes. It also prevents neuronal cell damage hence can be used to treat neurodegenerative disorders. This review represents the presence of bioactive components and their significance present in wild edible mushrooms as a nutraceutical in pharmacological effects on the human body in the treatment of serious disease conditions.
