

An Approach to Treat Corvid-19: An Opinion to Use Angiotensin Converting and 4-Dipeptidyl Peptidase Enzymes Inhibitors

Coronavirus (CoV) attach the cell surface and enter the host cell via interaction with angiotensin converting enzyme receptor. Viral replication induces dysregulation of the autophagy process and interferes with the natural function of the lysosomes. Antimalarial drugs, including chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine through their lysosomotropic and autophagy inhibiting effects may be useful in the management of CoV infections. Among the people who at risk of developing CoV infections are hypertensive and diabetic patients. This mini-review focuses on the possible using angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, and 4-dipeptidyl peptidase enzyme inhibitors in the management of people at risk of Covid-19, as these drugs have significant effects on the process of autophagy.
