Abstract

The topics and subjects studied and reported in this project work is very less frequently discussed and studied on the special population. It is a very important matter to discuss on and to find some conclusions so that the special patient groups like pregnant, lactating, and geriatric patients can be treated and taken care of well. These most sensitive patient populations that need the best treatment and often health care evaluation. The Present Research Study involves “An evidence based research on impact and validation of (MFRS) Medication fall risk and evaluation tools and DART (Drug associated risk tools) in drug safety evaluation among special populations” and was conducted in Hebbal, RT Nagar Bangalore 560024, Karnataka, India over a minimum period 4 months from 04 th July 2022 to 06 th October 2022 within an estimated sample size was 250 for the present study. The data was collected by using different scales and methods were implemented to monitor the Medication fall risks and Drug associated risks. A total of 250 patients were enrolled in the study out of which the males are 77 and females are 173 in which 121 (88.4 %) patients were literates and 29 (11.6%) patients were illiterates, 53 patients were alcoholic and 68 patients were having behavior of smoking and 46 patients were having both alcoholic+smoking behavior. Past medical condition history and past medication history was taken into account for evaluating the special population from which we got the idea about the category of drug patients take. MFRS and DART tools were used for assessing the safety of the drug, and it was done separately for geriatric and pregnant and lactating women. Out of which 119 were geriatric and 131 were pregnant and lactating women.
