Validation of Caratol E Tablet for its Melanogenesis Effect—In Vitro Study
Abstract
Vitiligo is a skin disorder characterized by pale patches due to lack of melanin. Lack of melanin may be due to reduced melanogenesis, lack of melanocytes and decreased tyrosinase activity. In the present study, Caratol E tablet was evaluated for its melanogenesis effect. Melanocytes viability was evaluated by MTT assay and tyrosinase assay. Caratol E tablet showed positive effect in increasing the melanogenesis. Results are discussed in the present paper.
