Combination of Withania somnifera and Centella asiatica for the Management of Anxiety and Stress: Promise for the Future
Abstract
Aim: the aim of the present study is to evaluate the anxiolytic effect of Aforte tablet formulated with the combination of Withania somnifera and Centella asiatica. Method: The anxiolytic effect of Aforte tablet was studied by ethogram and other conventional pharmacological studies such as Despair Swim test (DST), Elevated Plus Maze (EPZ) and Skeletal Muscle Relaxant Activity. Result: The study of ethogram of mice evaluated by focal animal sampling showed that Aforte treatment has caused unfazed behavior when compared to control animals. Aforte (combination of Withania somnifera and Centella asiatica) treated animal showed better anxiolytic effect in the entire conventional pharmacological test such as Despair Swim test (DST), Elevated Plus Maze (EPZ) and Skeletal Muscle Relaxant Activity. Conclusion: Aforte is indeed an effective anxiolytic drug based on our various studies.
