Abstract

Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) functions as National Coordination Centre (NCC) for Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) to monitor the adverse drug reactions (ADR).  Healthcare professionals including nurses play a vital role in ADRs monitoring and reporting to NCC to ensure the safe use of medicines.  NCC takes efforts to initiate nursing professionals to participate in PvPI to promote patients safety. To provide education and training to the nurses in ADRs reporting is need of the hour.
