Preparation and Characterization of Some of Formazan Derivatives

Abstract

Some formazan derivatives were prepared through reaction of benzaldehyde-phenylhydrazone with selected diazonium salts in alkaline medium in very good yields. The hydrazone were prepared by reaction of phenylhydrazine with benzaldehyde in slightly acidic medium. The structure of the formazan derivatives were fully established by physical and spectral methods.
