Plants are the greatest gift to human kinds; they are the sources of various kinds of metabolites of known as well as unknown composition. Secondary metabolites are the compounds which are non-nutrient and are rich sources of other activity in the plants. Plant phenolics are the compounds which have phenyl ring in them in addition to two or more hydroxyl rings; they perform variety of function in plants such as antimicrobial as well as antioxidants role. Other roles are the anticarcinogenic and many more valuable functions. The stem is rich in variety of compounds. Here in this research work we have tried to work on the phenolic contents of the stem of Anogeissus pendula by the Folin–Ciocalteau method. The total phenolic compounds were tested quantitatively. Gallic acid was used as the standard agent. Several concentrations were taken and several chemical adding was done to perform the spectrophotometrically reading of the TPC; graph was plotted and the one way ANOVA reading was used for the statistical analysis of the total phenolic compound. The results obtained were having very less level of significance. Overall the tree stem is rich in phenolic compounds and they can be used for the formation of several kinds of drugs as medicines from the stem.
