Garlic is an annual herb native to Central Asia but its widespread use as a condiment and medicinal properties, is cultivated in almost all continents. The parts used are garlic bulbs that contain a wide variety of active ingredients with medicinal properties that stand out in the plant kingdom. The systems in which the garlic active ingredients provide its benefits are the cardiovascular, respiratory, genitourinary tract, digestive, hematopoietic, skin and mucous membranes. There are a number of pharmaceutical preparations with garlic, but its most widespread use is the ingestion of a clove of garlic with a glass of orange juice in the early hours of the morning to fight the aches of osteoarthritis and arthritis. The tincture obtained with 40% hydroalcoholic solution is administered with 20 drops in a little water three times a day. Its diuretic pharmacological action is due to fructosan as contained in the 75%, and a small amount of essential oil that is responsible for the vasodilator effect, antihypertensive, antiplatelet and others.
