The Divine Tree (Neolamarckia cadamba): A Review

Neolamarckia cadamba is a tree widely used in ancient traditional medicines due to its various pharmacological values. Whole part of tree from leaves to roots is rich in nutrients and minerals. The phytochemical screening of plant parts i.e. leaf, bark, fruit, root and seed showed various phytochemical constituent. N. cadamba has also been mentioned in Hindu mythological books and stories therefore hold a special place in Indian culture. It is found and known in different parts of India with different regional names. This present review explores the various therapeutic, nutritional and pharmacological value of Neolamarckia cadamba.
