Comparative study of Polyherbal anti-diabetic syrup with the Marketed formulation
Abstract
Diabetes, is commonly referred to as diabetes mellitus, it’s a group of metabolic disorder in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either due to insufficient insulin secretion or the body cells not responding to insulin. Polyuria (frequent urination) and polydipsia (growing thirst and hunger) are common in patients with high blood sugar (polyphagia). This present study reveals that comparative study of poly herbal anti-diabetic syrup with marketed formulation. Evaluation parameters like colour, odour, taste, pH, viscosity, specific gravity, density are compared with a marketed formulation. Tri-herbal and single herbal formulations were less effective than polyherbal formulations, which were rich in alkaloids, tanins, and terpenoids.
