Abstract

The use of several oil preparations in ancient system of medicine such as, Ayurveda and Siddha for the treatment of various ailments are well known and the method of preparation of thailam do affect the acid value of the oils and make them harmful to the patients. The present paper reports the outstanding precaution and exemplary technological standardization adopted in the preparation of Dr. JRK’s 777 oil and how to prevent rancidity. We have used iodine value determination to evaluate the process superiority.
