Abstract

Phytochemistry is a branch of the modern plant sciences which is concerned with the different types of phytochemicals in different combinations. They are of several kinds of nature and of several significances for human utilization. The utility of the plants is a very old practice; from the time immoral several civilizations used plants for the various purposes but they were not based on any scientific investigation, so how exactly they were it was based on the experiences of the people; it was known as the Traditional knowledge (TK) and the folk medicines. The TK passed from the one generation to another generation by the means of the oral communications and they preserved the knowledge of the generations for the better futures. In this research study, we are trying to elucidate the preliminary phytochemical investigation of one of the trees of the Rajasthan termed as the Prosopis cineraia of the mimosidae family; we used different types of the solvent systems and found significant results.
