Formulation and Evaluation of Momordica charantia by Direct Compression Method

Abstract


The Momordica charantia herbal tablet was prepared by direct compression method. Various excipients used for the preparation of herbal tablet are such as Momordica charantia, MCC, Methyl Cellulose, Starch, and Sodium Benzoate. The anti-diabetic activity of Momordica charantia is due to their active ingredient that is present in their fruit part includes charantin, insulin-like peptide, cucurbitane, glycosides, Momordic in and oleanolic acid. The final tablet undergoes through post evaluation parameters such as hardness test, disintegration, friability, and weight variation.
