A Review on Different Species of Echinacea

Abstract


Echinacea is one of the plant species found in the North American tribes, which are commonly called as coneflowers. Echinacea species such as Echinacea angustifolia, Echinacea pallida, Echinacea purpurea, Echinacea serotina, etc. are used in the treatment of common cold, urinary tract infections, respiratory problems, etc. They also show anti-immunosupperssant activity, anti-viral activity, antifungal activity, anti-inflammatory activity, antioxidant activity, etc. This article mainly includes morphological features, chemical constituents, pharmacology, and medicinal uses of the above plant species.
