Study of Physiological Aspect Menopausal Menorrhagia with Ayurvedic Perspective

Menorrhagia or dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) is a common suffering in females of menopausal age. This is due to the series of changes that presents as different symptoms and signs. Surgery and HRT has been used to treat the symptoms but are often associated with complication and adverse reactions. Ayurveda manages disease holistically with the use of natural herbs that offers better control of symptoms and ensures general wellbeing and quality life. This article has been aimed to study mechanism of body humour role of pitta and vata in the occurrence of the disease due to circadian rhythm based on the age. Rasa is the primary nutritive fluid that comes from the digestion of ingested food that circulates throughout the body menstrual blood is also derived from rasa is the opinion of ancient ayurvedic treatises. The protocol for management was suggested in this paper.
