Abstract

The present study discusses about the role of PVP in converting herbal churna to tablet form. Herbal ingredients are bound to have either high level of moisture and or essential oils and hence making tablets with such herbal ingredients pose variety of challenges such as poor flow property, compressibility, hardness and capping. PVP significantly reduce most of the limitations provided the scientific method of incorporation of the same is adopted.
