Cubosomes: A Vanguard Wave of Nanotechnological Front
Abstract
Cubosomes are unique nano-sized drug delivery carriers that are formed by self-assembly of binary components i.e., aqueous lipids and surfactants. The most striking feature of cubosomes which make it indispensable is its controlled release profile. They are usually manufactured by high-energy dispersion aqueous lipid that is followed by thermodynamic and colloidal stabilization by using surfactants. After formation, the cubosomes is transformed into patient acceptable product and then administered it to body organs and tissues. Extremely low-cost manufacturing expenditure and versatility in applications made cubosomes a widely acceptable product. This article basically gives a brief description about cubosomes, its manufacturing and its applications.
Keywords: cubosomes, nano-sized, controlled release profile
